Meet Our Team

Our team of professionals will take time to listen to your concerns. They regularly attend training and seminars to keep abreast of advances in dental techniques and materials and are committed to continued professional development. All are committed to the East Mews ethos of providing a high level of care through minimally invasive dentistry, and they provide the standard of care they themselves would expect to receive.

An important aspect of our philosophy is our firm belief that dignity, respect and empathy along with patient involvement and understanding are fundamental to providing high quality care for our patients.

All registered staff adhere to the General Dental Council standards for dental professionals and we are fully registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

The Dentists

Dr. Samantha Shreeve

Sam joined the practice in 2007 and was delighted to become the practice principle in 2022. In over 15 years at East Mews, Sam is passionate about fostering the ethos that makes East Mews such a caring and friendly practice. As a mother of three, she has a calming and positive personality which helps adults and children of all ages relax during their visits.  

Sam has extensive experience in restorative and preventative dentistry. Sam also has a keen interest in the relationship between dental health and general wellbeing especially with the increasing evidence of the close association between dental health and the link to cardiovascular disease and diabetes.

Dr. Tessa Ferguson

Tessa began her career in dentistry graduating from the University of Dundee in 2012. After some time volunteering as a dentist in Nepal and Cambodia she did her VT year in Dundee under the mentorship of a dentist with a special interest in Implants.

Her career then took her to Fife and onto Edinburgh before joining us here at East Mews in 2020. Tessa particularly enjoys helping people to overcome their anxiety associated with dental visits, taking her time to sit and listen, calmy going through the options available and then tailoring the treatment to suit the individual.

Additional training in Oral Surgery, Inman Aligners, Periodontology and Tooth Whitening as well as ICON therapy, Implant Restoration and Direct Composite Artistry.

In her spare time Tessa enjoys cooking, travel and art. She is also hoping to train her new puppy, Lily to become a therapy dog.

Dr Joanne Kelly

Jo qualified from Leeds University in 1995, and has worked in general practice since. She joined East Mews in September 2022.

Jo enjoys getting to know her patients and treating the whole family.

She is encouraging of nervous patients, providing relaxed treatment to guide them towards losing their phobias of coming to the dentist in the long term. Jo has two children, she is a keen music fan and enjoys cooking and walking her dogs.

Dr Tomas Cuenca-Jimenez

Tomas joined the practice in 2024. He qualified in Madrid in 2007, and obtained a Postgraduate Diploma in implant-prosthesis in 2009 followed by Oral Medicine in 2010 at Complutense University of Madrid. Once he moved to the UK he completed his MFDS exams in Edinburgh (2014), and finished his Diploma in Dental Implantology in Toulouse, France (2016).

Dr Ruth Bentley

Ruth joined the practice in November 2023. Having worked in Sussex since qualifying in 2000 Ruth is well known throughout the area and has built a reputation as a caring dentist with prevention at the core of her clinical practice.

Dr. Edita Wallace

Edita joined the practice in 2025. She graduated in 2009 and has worked as a family dentist in Surrey and Sussex ever since. Edita enjoys the variation that the general practice offers especially treating children and anxious patients.

Most of her spare time is spent with her three young children but she also enjoys running and is a member of a local running club.

Dr. Deepaban Patel

Dentist with Special interest in Periodontics.

Deepaben joined the practice in June 2025

With over 11 years of experience in dentistry, Deepaben is a seasoned professional
with a passion for periodontal health. Her dedication to surgical procedures and
gum treatment has driven her to specialize as a periodontist in India, where she
excelled in providing effective treatments for gum disease, a leading cause of
tooth loss.
Deepaben‘s approach to periodontal care goes beyond clinical expertise. She is
deeply committed to ensuring her patients feel comfortable and anxiety-free
throughout their treatment, creating a supportive and calming environment.
Her focus on surgical procedures allows her to offer advanced solutions for complex periodontal issues.
Gum Disease Treatment: Deepaben is particularly adept at treating gum disease,
helping patients maintain their oral health and preserve their natural teeth.

Outside of work Deepaben cherishes spending quality time with her twin daughters
and husband. she loves tor travel, exploring diverse cuisines.

Dr Noor Kamourieh

BDS (Birm), MSc Restorative (Dist) (UCL Eastman)

General Dentist | Special Interest in Restorative Dentistry

Dr Noor is a general dentist with a special interest in restorative dentistry. She completed her undergraduate training at the University of Birmingham, followed by a Master of Science (MSc) in Restorative Dentistry at the Eastman Dental Institute (UCL), where her research was later published in a peer-reviewed journal. She has also undertaken advanced training in aesthetic restorative dentistry with Dr Chris Orr and enjoys all aspects of general dentistry, with particular passions for dentures, adhesive techniques, and minimally invasive dentistry. Dr Noor is currently pursuing a part-time Master’s in Legal Aspects of Medical Practice (LLM) at Cardiff University.

Known for her gentle and supportive approach, Dr Noor is committed to providing the highest standard of preventative and restorative care, helping patients feel comfortable and confident throughout their treatment.

Outside of dentistry, she enjoys travelling, spending time with family and friends, playing tennis, and exploring the country’s many historic sites and scenic walks.

Dr Maryam Butt B

Dentist with  special interest in Endodontics

GDC No. 295943

Maryam graduated with honours from King’s College London. She initially worked as a General Dentist before pursuing further training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at University College London. She went on to hold further posts in Oral Surgery and Oral Medicine at the Eastman Dental Hospital.
 
She obtained her Membership of the Faculty of Dental Surgery with the Royal College of Surgeons of England and is currently completing a Master of Clinical Dentistry in Endodontics at King’s College London, with the aim of becoming a GDC-registered Specialist Endodontist.
 
Maryam strives to be as kind, caring and systematic in her approach. She takes pride in making dental procedures as comfortable as possible for her patients while always aiming for the best outcomes.

Kozue joined the practice in 2016 having qualified in Japan in 1992  as a dental hygienist. When Kozue isn’t at work she is taking care of her dogs and practicing her piano skills.

Hi I’m Carly I’ve been working as a Dental Hygienist for 13 years.
I’ve been at Eastmews for 7 years, I enjoy helping patients and building a good rapport with those I meet, I especially enjoy helping nervous patients to feel at ease and relaxed in the dental chair.

I qualified at the Eastman’s Dental Hospital. I enjoy reading, socialising and spending time with my 3 children doing all sorts of activities with them in my spare time

Divine has been working as a Hygienist since graduated from the University of Essex in 2020, having always been passionate about dentistry and dental hygiene. She was previously a dental nurse. Divine is a Dental Hygienist that likes doing not only everyday maintenance of dental oral health but also more complex cases, such as root surface debridement.

Harriet Ashby

Harriet graduated from the University of Portsmouth with a First-Class Honours Degree in Dental Hygiene and Dental Therapy. She offers a fresh, friendly approach to patient care and has a background in Dental Nursing. Committed to developing  her skills, Harriet is currently  pursuing an MSc in Advanced Restorative Dental Therapy. She is passionate about promoting healthy, confident smiles and helping patients feel comfortable throughout their visits.

Our Dental Nurses are either qualified and registered with the General Dental Council, or studying for the NEBDN Level3 National Diploma in Dental Nursing. Their constant training provides them with skills to assist the Dentist in delivering your treatment and care. They perform a vital role in ensuring the surgery environment is as safe and pleasant as possible.

Dawn Burrell

Dawn is our longest standing member of staff joining in 2002. 21 years at The Mews!  Dawn is a big dog lover ad has recently got a new puppy called Vinny.

Stephanie May-Hills

Steph joined the practice in 2016 as a trainee dental nurse and qualified the following year. When asked what she most enjoys about the job she said ‘ working with such a supportive team’

In her spare time, Steph runs a Spray Tanning business from home and works closely with the charity SADS UK fundraising to help install more defibrillators in public areas. 

Lucie Valentova

Lucie joined the East Mews crew back in May 2018 as a Receptionist. The team and patients were SO lovely she decided to expand on her skills and become a dental nurse. 😁

It’s now been almost 2 years since she passed her exams and she’s so pleased she did it!

Lucies best thing about working @eastmewsdentalcare is the incredible atmosphere and super friendly colleagues and patients!

Amy joined the practice in April 2022 having qualified as a dental nurse 9 years ago she is very experienced. When asked what she enjoys most about working here Amy said ‘ the practice feels like a family , it is such a lovely environment and I always feel recognised for the work I put in.

Sophie joined the practice in 2020 and comes with a wealth of experience having been qualified for over 12 years. Sophie enjoys working at the practice as she loves being part of the team. Outside of work Sophie enjoys mountain biking and looking after her son.

Natalie joined the practice in 2021 as a trainee dental nurse and qualified the following year in 2022. Natalie most enjoys getting to know the patients’ and helping to making a difference to their oral health. In her free time Natalie is busy with her young family and enjoys music and reading.

Nidina Sewduth

Nidina started working here as a trainee dental nurse in 2018 and qualified in 2021. Nidina has extensive experience in the care profession and when she isn’t at work she is looking after her daughter Amber. Nidina loves being part of the team here at East Mews and is always trying to do more Tik Tok videos!

Charlotte joined the practice in January 2025 as a trainee Dental Nurse.

Reception Team

Our reception team will guide you through and will make your visit to our practice a pleasant one. They are your first point of contact, so they have been carefully selected to be friendly and competent. They will guide you through every stage of your visit.

Tracey Edwards

Receptionist

Tracey joined the practice in 2023. Her favourite part of working here is meeting and helping the patients. In her spare time she enjoys running and yoga.

Practice Management

As well as being our Practice Manager Michelle is our Head Nurse and Radiography Lead. Behind the scenes Michelle works to ensure our practice runs smoothly, overseeing policies and procedures for the benefit of patients and supporting the team.
